Privacy policy
Short version: we collect very little, and we do not sell it.
What we publish
Rankings are built from public GitHub data: repository names, descriptions, star counts, and the public usernames of repository owners. Nothing private is accessed.
What we collect from visitors
- Server logs. Like any website, our server records your IP address, the page requested, and your browser type. We use this to keep the site secure, limit abuse, and fix faults. Cookies and passwords are never written to these logs.
- Sponsored-listing clicks. When you click a “Sponsored” listing we add one to a counter for that sponsor, so the sponsor can be billed. We do not store your IP address for this: a scrambled one-way code of it is held briefly in memory only, to ignore repeat clicks, and is discarded when the server restarts.
- Forms. If you submit a promote, advertise, or contact form, we receive the name, email, link, and message you enter. They are stored in a private inbox that only the site operator can open, and are used only to reply to you.
Cookies
The site itself sets no cookies for visitors, and we use no advertising cookies, no analytics scripts and no cross-site tracking. Cloudflare, which sits in front of the site, may set a small security cookie to tell real people from bots. The operator’s private admin area uses a sign-in cookie that is never set for visitors.
Sharing
We do not sell personal data. Traffic passes through Cloudflare, which protects the site from attacks and may process requests (including IP addresses) on our behalf, and the site is hosted on a cloud server. Links to sponsors and to GitHub take you to other websites with their own policies.
Removal and your rights
If your repository or username should not appear, or you want data we hold about you deleted, contact us and we will act on it promptly.
